Our Many Services
We teach residents how to make a menu plan for the week, create a shopping
list from it and to learn to shop within the budget allowed.
We provide mentors/cooking coaches for residents who need help in preparing
a meal.
We teach life skills including house cleaning, use of public transportation
and social skills etc.
We provide fun opportunities outside the house such as going to the State
fair, Sacramento State football games and the Camellia Symphony.
We provide a Certified Life skills coach who works individually with residents.
She provides help in solving their personal problems, in making goals
and works to help residents solve house concerns. She takes individual
residents to movies, coffee etc. in order to have one on one time with
them.
We
believe in peer directed support and have trained two of our residents
who now teach a well known consumer education class called SACPort. Residents
learn how to manage their medication, talk to their doctors, how to interview
for a job, how to start a conversation etc.
We advocate with the doctors, social workers etc. for the resident when
needed.

Testimonials from parents of residents.
The WHH arrangements are ideal. The rent is very reasonable. For those
on SSI/SSDI income it allows them some spending money each month. There
is always company for friendship and security. One does not need to live
alone in an apartment. They don't need to be concerned about food and
utilities. There are laundry facilities. They learn about house cleaning
and cooking. There are in-house activities. There are computer connections.
There is so much more! The residents are lucky. Lynn: you guys are providing
very valuable services. Thanks to you, the Board, the volunteers, and
the donors.
We wanted to thank you for any assistance you have given her since her
move to Rancho Cordova. She is getting into cooking, takes care of her
Para Transit rides and does her laundry. WOW!
I understand things are going well for my son's move. I'm so relieved
he is going to Welcome Home! I think he will benefit from your program,
and, hopefully, you from his input. Even though I'm prejudiced, he is
a great person and has a lot to offer/give. It just needs to be tapped.
With your and Connie's help, this can be accomplished.
